Durante un'animata discussione, Janoth uccide in un impeto di collera la propria amante Pauline York, e si rivolge al suo fedele aiutante Steve Hagen, che lo accompagna e lo consiglia in ogni frangente, affinché questi lo aiuti a depistare le indagini.
